An advisory review by the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has identified steps the Global Fund can take to strengthen its efforts to remove human rights-related barriers to accessing services for HIV, tuberculosis and malaria, even as it acknowledges that the Fund is "one of the leading organizations to include the removal of human rights-related barriers to services among its strategic objectives." The recommendations fall under three broad categories: aligning human rights investments and understanding with corporate priorities; clarifying roles and objectives to drive the Fund's strategic objective of promoting and protecting human rights and gender equality; and improving monitoring of human rights-related investments and outputs.
