Secretariat to roll out new orientation program for CCMs
The CCM Hub at the Global Fund Secretariat, in close collaboration with the USAID Leadership, Management, and Governance (LMG) Project, has developed a new standardized orientation program for country coordinating mechanisms (CCMs). The purpose of the program is to improve CCM performance by providing members with the knowledge and skills they need to effectively carry out their roles and responsibilities.
Three ways the Global Fund could do more for TB
In October 2015, the World Health Organization reported that the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) to halt and reverse TB incidence (MDG 6c) was achieved on a worldwide basis, in each of WHO’s six regions and in 16 of the WHO’s 22 high-burden countries. While this progress is commendable, recent evidence suggests the trend may be reversing.
The challenges of CCM reform in the DRC
In the Democratic Republic of Congo, a reform of the country coordinating mechanism is underway to make it comply with Global Fund requirements and to integrate it into a national steering committee for health, the Comité National de Pilotage du Secteur de la Santé.
